Now in week 52, we’re starting off the New Year with an international vibe (probably because we are still stoked from the Run The Jewels on tour with Lorde announcement). We have Birmingham, England born Jules Rendell, a young artist with soulful vocals and a jazzy way with words, now making her home in London.
Her debut EP, The Lotus Bloom is an impressive piece of work from a genuine musical talent that plays piano and cello, along with writing and arranging all of the tracks on her EP. After graduating from The Royal Northern College of Music, Rendell went on to sing with Gorillaz at Manchester Opera House as part of the Manchester International Festival and backing artists such as Keane, Beverley Knight and Aled Jones. As a live performer, Jules has graced the stage at O2 Islington, Manchester Academy, The Secret Garden Party, The Pheasantry and Pizza Express Jazz Club. She recently sold out London’s Hippodrome Casino for the live launch of The Lotus Bloom EP. This artist was brought to the attention of G.G. McGee, Vice-President of Grind Time Official Records, by the fine folks over at GrungeCake.com.

December day 5&6. Got to say a big thanks to @nicksmusicpromo & @shoreditchradio 4playing #OldFriend today/tonight & @grungecake 4featuring the video (10 best indie-international videos of the week). That’s enough good things to shoo away the gunk from 2 weeks of cold, right? pic.twitter.com/r8Q5nk6kWj
